New project!

Wow I had a very long morning running a friend of my around from one side to the city to the other but it was worth it!

Anyways I told myself since the weather is over casted and ugly I must do something with my soaps. So I grated a few old bars of soap and got them in the double boiler and add some water and EVOO. I decided to try and make sugared scrub cubes.WEll to my dismay it is harder than I though and how people explain how to make them. Now found my recipe about 1-2 years ago and only wrote down a short version of it so I had ot emprovise and Im not sure it was all that good. So this is what I got. A big glop of pink soap that smelled very nice> I use a purfume based fragrance called Pretty by Elizabeth Arden. Oh man does it smell so good. So I had a cupple of small molds that I use and had to actully glop it in and press it down cuse it was not soupy as the directions had stated. Well needless to say it got done and I guess you can say they turned out okay! Hopefully!!!

Schools out!!

OMG school has been out for over a week! I just can't seem to get things done. My house is a mess and I have not made any new soaps. I know I said I would made at least 2 soaps aday but I just can't seem to get motivated to do anything! I think im burned out and need a recharge.

Anyways I working on my website and trying to finsh that and keep my kids out of my hair. They don't like to go outside; they are not nature kids. I been waiting for the weather to get warm enough to take the kids to the swim park and I think today it is at that point 97 degrees with no winds. Its hot!!

Looks like they are going to the parent for some free swimming!

What I have been doing!!
Man I have not posted anything in months!! This is my one I made on Tuesday! Its a sweet sugary scent. Not sure what Im going to call it but I have to say that I really like the way it came out. Its made with coconut, sunflower, palm kernal oil, soybean, shea, and olive oil. I use mica's and natural colorants to color my soaps and frangrace oils.

I'm not really into using essential oils. I find them too earthy for my taste. I preferr fruity, sweet candy scents. I love sweet smelling body products.

Plain white soap made with lard

I made this one because I had not used any lard in making my soaps so I just want to see how it would come out.

My 3rd soap. Made with lard and no scent.

I hot processed this soap> I though I would be hot processing all my soap but I been viewing alot of cold processed soap with lovely swirrls. Anyways Im still searching to find a great receipe!

My second attempt!

Ok this is not that bad! Man I can kick myself! I used to make soaps years ago and I had compiled alot of recipes however when I moved about 3years ago I gave all my soap making stuff away. I mean I had a heck of a lot of stuff! But becuause I was going thur a seperation I wanted to get out and start over. If I only known that I was going to do the soaping thing; I would have not goten ride of my stuff! "Hind site is a Mother!"

So It it is my 2nd attempt! This is also hot processed, its my kitchen helper with coffee grounds!

Sharing some soaps I have made

I just wanted to share some of the soaps I have been working on for the past month. I was meaning to post as I made each soap but as you know time is not always your friend. So now I have a little time to share so lets do some "Show in tell"!


My first soap I have made in 6 years. Not the pretties but it did get me started back making soap for me and my family. Its is hot processed with oils I found at the local grocery store.
