3rd attempt at Tiger Strips

Here's another attempt at making the tiger  strip soap!  I know im way behind way behind! Like its 3 soaps behind!  So anyways im really liking the colors i used the neon pink and charcoal black and the white. Another soaper used the same colors and it was real pretty!  This is the black berry vanilla fragrance oil which is multi color friendly.  But for some reason it kind of thicken up while i was pouring into the mold. Not sure what to call this soap it so pretty!

2nd Attempt at Tiger Strips Challenge

Ok So this is my second attempt at doing the Tiger Strips. OMG this was a challenge although I had fun doing it! Anyways it as doomed from the beginning! I had plan to make soap last week so I premade my lye water and let it set out to cool off and to have it ready when so I could add the frozen goat milk. Well things just did not happen that way.One thing after another kept me away from making soap and before I knew it a week had passed by!  Still the lye water sat uncovered  not protected from anything or from anyone. I'm not sure I was thinking in my right mind because I know I'm suppose to cover the lye water when I'm not going to be using it anyway soon because it crystallized on the top and the water also evaporates.  So  that was the first problem!  The next was when I went to go use it I had to remix the crystillized part of the lye water and add way too much water like an extra 4oz!  That pretty much sealed the deal on this purfectly pretty soap.
O ya and I want to say I add to much fragrance too but I would not realize this until I seperated them into the different cups.

The black is charcoal. The purple is pop mica from TKB Trading.  The white Titanium dioxide: however I not sure if it the one you mix with water or oil so I mixed it with alcohol and then oil when it did not look right. And the tan is natural with only the fragrance oil added!

Now when I mixed all them together the way I wanted them I notice that the black and non-color were starting to separate and looking like the beginning of ricing..  Anyways I continued to mix and mix the black and it just would not mix right.  Knowing that I really should have not used it I used it anyways and lo and behold the outcome of my beautiful swirled soap. Check out this video the out come!

This is my go at Amy Warden Soap Challenge Week for the Tiger Strips!  However they are not so tiger strips more of a zebra or something like that! I love trying now configurations for soaps and seeing how they turn out so I was excited to do this one.  I can't wait till the next one!

So for this soap I used neon green and yellow pop mica form TKB Trading and some un-color soap to make the strips. When I got the soap to trace I added the fragrance then just stirred it in. Then divided the soap into each container and stirred by hand to mix the color because I did not want it to trace too fast. But as you may know by the way the strips look it did trace before I could get the first pour!  So anyways the fragrance I chose was Green Clover and Aloe which I have to say smell AWESOME!! I made this for my mom because she really likes this scent.  I purchased this scent from Southern Garden Scents.  They are kinda of pricey but I buy what smell great and I like that they come in amber glass bottles.  It does help preserver the life of the oil a little longer!

I let the soap gel completely which I really never do to see if this scent would change and it did not still smells AWESOME!

The scent description is a floral fruity combination of fresh citrus and jasmine petals on a sweet musk and woody background.
I'll be doing a second tiger strip soap using Twilight Dreams from Pure Fragrance Oil or Southern Garden Scent!

Handmade Liquid Laundry Soap

New project: Liquid Laundry Soap!

Ok so I usually make powder laundry soap but I'm getting bored with the powder! So liquid it is! I use mostly cold water and I notice that the powder was not desolving like it should have been So now we giving liquid a try!

This is the same recipe I use for powder just have to melt the soap shreds and then the borax and washing powder in hot water.

Recipe
2.5 c soap shreds (Old soap scraps)
1/2 c Borax
1/2 c A&J Washing powder
4 cups of water
1 gal + 6 cups of hot water add to 2 gal bucket

Ok so first I added the soap shreds to 4 cups of water in a large sauce or kettle pot. Then heated it until the soap desolved add the borax and washing powder and let the desolved too. Add all that to the 2 gallon bucket of water and stir and cover for 24 hrs. It will be kinda of like a thin gel.

New project!

Wow I had a very long morning running a friend of my around from one side to the city to the other but it was worth it!

Anyways I told myself since the weather is over casted and ugly I must do something with my soaps. So I grated a few old bars of soap and got them in the double boiler and add some water and EVOO. I decided to try and make sugared scrub cubes.WEll to my dismay it is harder than I though and how people explain how to make them. Now found my recipe about 1-2 years ago and only wrote down a short version of it so I had ot emprovise and Im not sure it was all that good. So this is what I got. A big glop of pink soap that smelled very nice> I use a purfume based fragrance called Pretty by Elizabeth Arden. Oh man does it smell so good. So I had a cupple of small molds that I use and had to actully glop it in and press it down cuse it was not soupy as the directions had stated. Well needless to say it got done and I guess you can say they turned out okay! Hopefully!!!

OMG school has been out for over a week! I just can't seem to get things done. My house is a mess and I have not made any new soaps. I know I said I would made at least 2 soaps aday but I just can't seem to get motivated to do anything! I think im burned out and need a recharge.

Anyways I working on my website and trying to finsh that and keep my kids out of my hair. They don't like to go outside; they are not nature kids. I been waiting for the weather to get warm enough to take the kids to the swim park and I think today it is at that point 97 degrees with no winds. Its hot!!

Looks like they are going to the parent for some free swimming!
